  • Do you have the Panettone yet?

Do you have the Panettone yet?

A question I usually start asking sometime in September, fully aware that we’re still months away from that dangerously good pastry from the heart of Sicily. My name is Marko. I’m a friend of Raw Pasta. And my favourite Panettone of 2025 was Apple, Cinnamon & Almonds. I’m still mildly upset I only bought one.…

    S01E04 – Anything But Therapy

Keeping the newsletter momentum, even if I lost the thread a bit. I’ve been struggling with social posts since the start of the year, still slightly exhausted from December. Not exhausted enough to stop me from howling at the moon, though.

  • Jošt Lampret & Big Band RTV, SiTi Teater

Jošt Lampret & Big Band RTV, SiTi Teater

My first show of the year, this time purely as a fan with a camera. From “the curtain has fallen” to a sold-out evening with Jošt Lampret and the Big Band RTV Slovenija, joined by Veronika Kumar on vocals and Gaj Boštic on drums, under the direction of Tadej Tomšič. One of those shows you…

  • When helping out gets expensive

    When helping out gets expensive

A scenario I’ve lately run into more than once goes something like this: A client reaches out. They want me to shoot a concert, event, some portraits, etc. I’m already booked or unavailable. Instead of immediately declining, I do what I consider a decent thing: I’ll recommend and reach out to a photographer I trust.…

    S01E03 – Anything But Therapy

January mood? December stats? Another rant? New Year’s resolutions? Ten minutes to the Episode 3 deadline. Let’s keep this simple. December didn’t really slow down, so here’s a quick recap of recently published galleries:

  • Dan D, Novo mesto

    Dan D, Novo mesto

Probably the hardest caption I’ve written in a long time. The plan was simple. New Year’s Eve in bed, lights out early, gently snoring by 10 PM. December was a lot, and honestly, even Niet playing at Trg francoske revolucije wasn’t tempting enough. But when Dan D announced they were ending their journey with a…

  • Siddharta, Nova Gorica

    Siddharta, Nova Gorica

Last show of the year. Not exactly common to have a proper ‘štrom’ gig on a Monday, but I’m not complaining. A few days before closing out 2025, doing it with a band like this felt right. Still riding the Novo mesto high, I was tired but excited. Warmer air, an early 20:30 start, and…

    Siddharta, Novo mesto

Happy birthday, Janez. The second-to-last show of the year. Cold, yes, but easily one of those nights where everything clicked. The band, the crew, the crowd. The energy on stage was something else. Huge thanks to Damjan Končar, who set the bar high with exceptional photos from the Litija show the day before. That left…

  • Janez Dovč in black & white, Cankarjev dom

Janez Dovč in black & white, Cankarjev dom

Extending the original post with a small set of additional backstage photographs in black & white. From the depths of Cankarjev dom, some smiles, before the show nerves, a sneaky selfie, and a room full of remarkable artists. Happy to be part of the story.

  • Janez Dovč & Sounds Of Slovenia, Cankarjev dom

Janez Dovč & Sounds Of Slovenia, Cankarjev dom

Walking through Cankarjev dom over the past few months brought a quiet sense of pride. Seeing my work printed at scale, promoting Janez Dovč’s return to Gallus Hall with Sounds of Slovenia, ignited a small spark of celebration in an otherwise turbulent end of the year. This end-of-year concert brought together tradition, poetry, and music…

    S01E02 – Anything But Therapy

Season 1 continues. This time with orchestral photo galleries, a bit of whisky flexing, and some shameless self-promotion. Which, let’s be honest, is partly the point of this newsletter.

  • Symphonic Orchestra Domžale-Kamnik, Kamnik

    Symphonic Orchestra Domžale-Kamnik, Kamnik

A New Year’s concert held on December 22 in Kamnik, two nights in a row, both sold out. The concert featured soprano Beti Bratina, tenor Gregor Ravnik, and cellist Sebastian Bertoncelj, with Marjan Bunič as host. Music by Mozart, Offenbach, Strauss, Puccini, Prokofiev, and others shaped an evening between classical and a festive end-of-year atmosphere.
