Cookie policy

Marko Alpner ( website uses cookies to function. Cookies are small files that hold a certain amount of data, which our website can send to your browser. They may then be stored on your computer’s hard drive and can be accessed by our web server.

Legal grounds

The legal grounds for the notice about cookies is the Electronic Communications Act, which determines the rules on using cookies and similar technologies used for storing information or used for the access to information stored on a computer’s hard drive, tablet or mobile device.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files which most websites (and also e-mail messages, marketing and interactive applications) use and are sent to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive, tablet or mobile device. They usually contain:

  • the name of the server from which they were sent;
  • life span of the cookie;
  • value – a randomly generated unique number value.

Each time you visit our website, the website will gather data about cookies and recognize the user’s device.

A cookie does not contain or collect information which could enable the identification of an individual. If such an individual forwards the data himself, for example when he registers, such data can connect with the data stored in the cookie. A server can read a cookie together with the web browser. By doing so it helps the website to execute user-friendly services. Only the server that sent the cookie can read and use such a cookie.

Why are cookies needed?

Cookies are important for the functioning of websites and are crucial for ensuring user-friendly web services that improve a user’s experience.

Why do websites use cookies?

A website works optimally when cookies are enabled. Cookies are used by most websites for various purposes, for example:

  • for a better user experience, they adapt the content shown based on past visits;
  • for saving choices when generating a narrower field of devices and offers and their comparison;
  • on parts of websites that require log in (they keep the users logged in);
  • for recognizing a user device (computer, tablet, mobile device), which enables to adapt content shown in the user device;
  • for gathering statistics about the preferences of a user;
  • for monitoring traffic, which enables to discover and eliminate errors, to check the efficiency of content and advertisements and to constantly improve websites;
  • they are necessary for some services to work (e.g. web banks, online stores, etc.).

What types of cookies do we use?

Marko Alpner ( uses the following cookies on our website:

  • session cookies: are temporary cookies which are stored in the cookie files of the users browser and allow website operators to link the actions of a user during a browser session. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browse window. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.
  • 3rd party cookies: are cookies from other, affiliate websites (that measure traffic for example). With them, 3rd party websites can gather data about users from various websites and use them for purposes like marketing, analytics and improvement of their products.

Tracking and analysis

Marko Alpner ( uses analytical software Google Analytics from Google Inc. for constant optimization of its market communication. Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze traffic (count visitors, identify browsers and keywords, problems at navigation). The website of Marko Alpner ( notifies the users about them before they are used and/or downloaded to the users device.

This enables to follow web behaviour; cookies save information about how users use the website including the number of shown pages, where the user comes from (geographical location), time of visit and number of visits. All of this is collected for the improvement of the website and to enable a user-friendly experience.

By using cookies Marko Alpner ( collects the following data about visitors:

  • information about the device (which kind, brand, type);
  • information about the operating system (which kind and version);
  • information about the browser (which kind and version);
  • information about screen settings (e.g. resolution);
  • information about language settings;
  • information about sites that were shown.

We wish to stress that Google Analytics the website uses ensures the anonymous collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). Because of this Google shortens the IP address within the EU. The IP address of your computer is therefore automatically anonymized and does not enable any kind of deductions about your identity.

Managing cookies

You decide on whether or not to use cookies. You can always disable cookies and with that remove your recognizability from the web. Most browsers can be set so that they don’t save cookies and cookies settings can be monitored and changed in your web browser.
