Episode 23.
Despite my best intentions, I guess Tuesday Therapy is the norm now. At least if I managed to wrap this up before midnight.
Less than two weeks until starting new job, two festivals this weekend and Pogi Challenge in the mix. Looking forward to all four tbh, and trying to charge my batteries, literally and figuratively at the same time. Funny enough, I ran out of my power meter, Di2 and foil shaver charge today, so decided to get some rest and skip the Vended show in Zagreb. A dram of whisky won’t hurt, right?
It just might. Starting this year overly optimistic with a concrete goal for Krvavec climb and after last few months of non-ideal training and indulgent food regimen, I did manage to get my weight where it should be, but the power will need some more work. Did that today, and sadly, recovery and alcohol don’t mix. Maybe that’s the reason I put down Not Another F*cking Whisky Book by Mitch Bechard for the second time, without finishing it. Not in my nature.
On topic of countdowns, 54 days until Alpijada. The date and location are now out, a few more surprises and updates in the next two weeks. See you at Park Žibert on September 13th?

Jernej Žumer is again the one to blame for all the graphics related to the upcoming event. There will definitely be stickers, maybe some proper merch? Hmmm…
Happy beeps
A special kind of ‘dinner’ at Silk & Fizz, breaking the no-alcohol rule, with a cocktail G.O.A.T. Gimlet from the wildcard section. Should be called Pogačar Gimlet though.
The Odyssey. I fear I’m not alone in this, but lately it seems really good movies are more like an exception than a rule. It might be higher standards, but it may be something else. I have a few theories, but nobody wants to read me going down that black hole. The Odyssey is the exception. An Epic. Literally. I also really enjoyed the 2-part Hero of the Trojan Horse and Return of the King podcast episodes from The Rest Is History.
A number of previously mentioned bike rides, reminding legs that pain is a friend. Happy beeps indeed, especially above 180 BPM.
American Gods audiobook is simply stunning. Recommended, especially the 10th anniversary edition.
I’m not gonna mention Harry Talbot for the third episode in a row, as someone might think I have a crush.
Damn it.
Rant section
There’s a four-page draft (yes, I’m using Google Docs for my notes), just for this section alone and most of it better not go public.
Sigh, this might take some time.
- If you own a dog and you’re in a public place, put it on a leash. It’s the law. Lovely rant (not mine) on r/Ljubljana this past week.
- If you’re negotiating a deal/paycheck, don’t forget that lunch and transport bonuses can sum up to a meaningful amount at the end of the month.
- Self-criticism wouldn’t hurt, especially if you’re a business owner shamelessly sharing AI-generated slop graphics without a second thought.
I’m thinking about starting a wall of shame.
Q&A
I’ve noticed you don’t follow me on Insta/social media anymore? Why?
Currently, I’m trying to get my Instagram accounts under control, and sort them out by content. Ever since the timeline view practically doesn’t exist anymore, it’s been a nightmare to find the content I want to consume.
Second, if you’re publishing too much AI-generated content, dogs, fit-tiramisu or vegan recipes that taste just like meat, the unfollow button is just too tempting. Sorry, not sorry.
There’s just too much content out there and I try to pick what I consume, as best as the algorithm allows me to.
