Episode 4.
Keeping the newsletter momentum, even if I lost the thread a bit. I’ve been struggling with social posts since the start of the year, still slightly exhausted from December. Not exhausted enough to stop me from howling at the moon, though.
And howl I did.
In a small market, helping out shouldn’t cost you the relationship – a post about clients and photographers. About relationships, mutual respect, and the lack of it. The traffic went through the roof, and most of the feedback was positive.
My only concern is that the feedback came from people who already get it. The ones who don’t probably never will. So yes, still howling at the moon. I did send an email to one of the clients guilty of “skipping the middleman”. Curious to see if – or how – they respond.
Do The Thing
Tired of the cold, ice, snow, and the endless complaining, I got in the car and drove to the seaside. Two scoops of excellent ice cream. A walk on the beach at 10 °C. Summer can’t come early enough. Finished the evening with my first concert of the year – of course I took a few photographs.

- A photo from Dan D in Novo mesto printed in the latest issue of Mladina. The band breaking up still feels unreal and gut-wrenching.
- The knee pain turns out not to be serious. Two physio sessions later, I’m cleared for a run.

PS: Despite pandemic-coloured 2021 release, it’s still a standout album for me. The band is playing Gasometer in Vienna on February 15th. Tempting.

I promised a special #zahranogre episode this week. Plans changed, so I’m postponing that a bit longer. Still, a few obvious suggestions deserve a mention.
SILK and FIZZ
I’m not a cocktail person – and now I finally know why. Nobody had ever presented the culture and passion behind it the way Gal and Jan do. I went in with high expectations and still left impressed. Can’t wait to go back.
Gostilna Pri Tinetu
When in Koper, this is a must. Homey, delicious, and fairly priced. I did raise an eyebrow at pistachio tiramisu for dessert – but it was genuinely good. Just… maybe don’t call it tiramisu.
Sladoledarna
Yes, it’s January. No, I don’t care. Spicy chocolate raspberry and peanut stracciatella scratched an itch I didn’t know I had. Worth the drive just for the ice cream. Check the thumbnail for proof.
