Episode 3.
January mood? December stats? Another rant? New Year’s resolutions? Ten minutes to the Episode 3 deadline. Let’s keep this simple.
December didn’t really slow down, so here’s a quick recap of recently published galleries:
And some content I promised a week ago
There are still a few more left to add, but December ended with a strong bang. I’m still recovering. Just a little.
Website updates
I’ve been missing search on the site for a while, so I finally started fixing that. There’s now a dedicated search page, a menu item, and a footer input to access it more easily.
It’s not where I want it to be yet, but it already helps. I’ll keep polishing the UX as I go.
Do The Thing
Start your yearly review. Mine’s almost there, 2025 draft already has a shape. Publishing it by the end of the month seems like a realistic deadline.
Let’s not talk about the 2024 version.
Highlight(s) Of The Week
- Completed the Festive 500 on December 31st. Some Zwift frustration along the way, which somehow resulted in an FTP increase. Stoked.
- Finally received the book from Harry Talbot (@visualsofharry). It’s glorious.
- Bor Čeh’s homemade šalam. Wow.
- The first free portrait session I promised last week is booked and happening. You know what to do if you want one.
- Excellent coffee from Banibeans and Dak Coffee Roasters. Slowly discovering new joys and depths in filter coffee. Am I growing up?
- Realising other artists copying my work – imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery. I’ll take it as a compliment.
Let-down(s) Of The Week
- On December 30th, our entire village lost electricity around 8:20. No notifications. No alerts. No communication.Three calls later, a full day in the dark and cold, and still no clear information. I understand it was the holidays, there was snow, and things happen. But basic communication matters. Exhausting. Elektro Ljubljana, you SHOULD do better.
- After a short run on January 1st, my knee decided this year might be more cycling-oriented. Not sure what’s going on yet. Physio visit on Wednesday should tell more.
- My faithful Nutribullet (2020–2026) took its final breath. Sad.
Song Of The Week
Start the year with a banger: my favourite Katalena song, Jabuka Se Potočila.
The band is also celebrating 25 years this year, with a special show at Cankarjev dom on October 1st. Congrats! PS: Nice promo photo.
Album Of The Week
In honour of Dan D, give their final album Rabim Človeka a proper listen. It also features my photo on the cover. Bitter-sweet, in the best possible way.
#zahranogre
As you’ve probably seen in the media, Taqueria Unomás closed its doors on January 1st. I wasn’t a fan of their marketing, especially the infamous “Daj ga v usta” billboards, but I did respect their passion and genuinely enjoyed the tacos. Ljubljana will be a slightly worse place without them.
No reviews or recommendations this week. Something special coming in the next episode.
A bit over deadline, but let me still wish you a healthy 2026. More creativity, more free time, and a bit more inner peace. Be mindful. Take breaks. Make things. Thanks for reading. See you next week.
