Probably the hardest caption I’ve written in a long time.
The plan was simple. New Year’s Eve in bed, lights out early, gently snoring by 10 PM. December was a lot, and honestly, even Niet playing at Trg francoske revolucije wasn’t tempting enough. But when Dan D announced they were ending their journey with a final show on December 31 in their hometown, there was no chance I’d stay home.
Five days later, the mix of emotions still hasn’t settled. I’m glad I went. Glad for the photographs. Grateful for being there. And still asking myself if this is really the end. It looks like it is, but time has a habit of rewriting conclusions. Hope, a dangerous thing.
Thank you Nikola, Tokac, Boštjan, Obra, and Tučo. Thank you Nina, Emanuela, and everyone we crossed paths with over the years. Thank you Dan D for the music, the stories, the friendships, the smiles, and the tears. Your music lives on, and I hope this isn’t the last time we see you on stage. Until then.
